Synopsis

A couple loose their newborn baby. Both are paralyzed with a sorrow which they express in different ways. The Mother stops going to work at her advertising agency and live in a dream world where the child is still alive. The Father goes to work in his cigar store but looses all his customers except for the evil man who wants to force him to sell. One day a child walks into the cigar shop, sassy but angelic, smoking cigars and selling paper dolls. Who is she? A messenger from the other side or just a kid who knows how to take what’s going on inside of people seriously? She sees no borders between the real and the imagined. She flits lightly between the visible and the invisible, between the living and the dead. This child takes the Mother by the hand, together they play Nora Schahrazade’s life, day for day, until she grows up and can move away from home, until Nora Schahrazade marries Theodore and goes on a honeymoon, far, far away.
